FutsALL Academy Coach Spotlight: Coach Rubens

At FutsALL Academy, we believe every player’s journey begins with a strong foundation. That’s why we are proud to highlight Coach Rubens, whose experience and vision are helping shape the next generation of athletes.

Journey into Coaching

For Coach Rubens, futsal is more than just a game; it’s the first phase of a soccer career. “Soccer is like a long-term project,” he explains. “Futsal is the first wave of that project. It molds and sharpens the foundation. Unlike private training that isolates skills, futsal naturally develops the technical, tactical, physical, and mental sides of the game. What keeps me passionate is seeing players grow faster, make better decisions, and carry those lessons into soccer, whether in college or professionally.”

A Defining Influence

Inspired by the development of South American players who rose to stardom through futsal, Rubens saw firsthand the game’s transformative power. “It showed me how futsal can accelerate growth compared to traditional training. That’s why I design sessions that train every area of the game at once.”

Guiding Players from Field to Court

Many of our athletes come from outdoor soccer, and Coach Rubens knows the adjustment isn’t always easy.“The biggest change is speed and decision-making. On the court, there’s less time and space. My sessions challenge players to act faster, connect passes under pressure, and sharpen their technical skills in tight spaces.”

Futsal as a Development Accelerator

At FutsALL Academy, we emphasize futsal as a complete training ground. Rubens calls it an “accelerator for development." "The small space demands precision in touch and movement, constant transitions build tactical awareness, and the pace forces rapid decision-making. Because it’s free-flowing, players also discover their creativity, which they carry back to the outdoor field."

His Vision for Our Players

he says, “is seeing players evolve quickly when exposed to futsal. My hope is to give them a solid foundation so they’re ready for whatever comes next — college, professional soccer, or beyond. If they can master creativity and decision-making here, they’ll succeed anywhere.”

With leaders like Coach Rubens, FutsALL Academy is committed to preparing young athletes for today’s game — and for the future.
